Portion Plus |

Users:
Researchers, Health Professionals/Students in Food Science and Nutrition/Patients and Consumers needing portion control in dietary management.
Description:
Health Technomics' Computer-based Portioning Anchors (HTCPA) is a
multipurpose program that serves as a visual reference (anchor) for
measurement of food amounts and capacity of food and beverage containers. It
facilitates visualization of serving sizes and estimation of food portions.
Portion Plus is the full version that allows data collection in addition to the functional features of Portion Counts and Portion Basics. This
capability for data collection, storage, and retrieval, makes Portion Plus a premier research tool beyond its use in clinical and educational settings.
Applications:
Portion Plus is designed as a tool for cognitive research related to serving or portion size estimation. Portion Plus also serves as a visual portion size reference for any method of dietary assessment. It automatically
computes the amount consumed when the individual responds to the estimation
questions on the computer as illustrated in the image above. Note that the
container's full capacity (volume to brim) is given as reference since people
fill containers at different levels. |
