Description:
HTCPA is a digitized reference for food portions and containers. It includes a pictorial database of portion sizes for the 300 most commonly consumed foods in the US and commonly used containers. At least 2 sizes or amounts were photographed for each food or container under highly controlled camera settings. In addition to these portion sizes, a photograph of a typical USDA pyramid serving size for selected foods in each of the five food groups is available for display in the program. The CD contains 680 food photos and 122 photographs of containers. For further information and pricing, contact us. Email president@healthtechnomics.net
Applications:
A computer program with an easily searchable visual interface of scaled photographs to be used as anchors for portion size estimation. The program can be used for education, dietary assessment, and cognitive research. Portion Basics is the educational version. It can also be used as a portion size reference during dietary assessment. A screen from the program shown above compares a pyramid serving size of bread with a hamburger or hotdog bun. |
